USK Praha breathed some life into their EuroLeague Women campaign with a first victory in the competition on Wednesday as they beat Dexia Namur 81-73.
Marketa Mokrosova's three-pointer with 3:52 left in the third quarter gave Praha a 51-48 lead and they stayed in front the rest of the way, although the Belgians made them work for their Group A triumph.
The outcome means that both sides have one win and six defeats.
After Mokrosova's three, the Czech outfit would manage to keep their noses in front but they never built a comfortable lead.

| It was only late in the fourth quarter when they managed to stretch their advantage to eight points.
They led 74-66 with 3:02 to play but Rebekkah Brunson made a lay-up and then the visitors added a pair of free throws to close the gap to 74-70 with 1:56 remaining.
A shot from Praha's Sviatlana Volnaya then served as a killer blow.
Volnaya buried a shot from behind the arc for a 77-70 advantage with 1:28 left, and that gave the hosts the final push they needed to claim their first win.
Volnaya poured in a game-high 25 points to pace the victors. |
