BC Volgaburmash showed why they are European and world club champions with an 87-60 demolition of Dexia Namur on Thursday in a Group A EuroLeague Women match.
Once again Maria Stepanova was outstanding for the Samara-based team with a points haul of 10 and 12 rebounds and three assists.

She was outscored by Ann Wauters of Belgium (18) and Amaya Valdemoro (17) while also managing double digits were Olga Arteshina (12), Edwige Lawson (11) and Nathalie Lesdema (10).
The victory ensured that the Russian side have a 5-1 record with their otherwise perfect season marred only by defeat at the hands of MiZo-Pecs who have won all six of their matches so far.

Playing zone defense, Samara tried to find the solution but Brunson imposed her game in the paint. But Samara managed to take the lead just before the break.
After the break, the visitors didn’t let it go. Stepanova and Arteshina scored from outside while Valdemoro dominated the fast break. Samara even played faster in the end closing the game ahead,with more than 20 points.
