With the scores level and 14 seconds left, Ferron missed a two-point attempt, but picked up a foul and two free throws in the process. However, he could make neither shot from the charity stripe, sending the game to the extra period.

Dexia turned the game decisively with a 9-0 run at the start of overtime, and although Lokomotiv tried to comeback one more time, the hosts secured victory with a free throw from Matthias Desaever after Ferron's misery was completed when he fouled out with eight seconds remaining.

He was one of four players in the game to pick up five fouls, along with team-mate Konstantin Nesterov, and Gerrit Major and Dragan Markovic of Dexia.

It was a tough end of the game for Ferron, who had carried his team most of the way with 29 points and a massive 20 rebounds.

New Zealander Mark Dickel had 16 points while Alexander Miloserdov and Evgeny Voronov both added 10 for the losing side.

American George Evans led Dexia with 21 points while Desaever added 19. James Potter grabbed 10 rebounds and scored seven points.
