Maroussi Cruise To Win
// 08 November 2005

Maroussi Honda coach Panagiotis Yannakis had a rare chance to relax on Tuesday as his team took control early against MPC Capitals in the EuroCup and cruised to a 65-53 win in Group F.

Maroussi, among the contenders for the Greek title this season, are off to a perfect start with three successive wins in Europe.

Yannakis had a chance to play many of his youngsters.

Players like Roderick Blakney and Markos Kolokas normally pace the offence but with Maroussi holding a commanding 38-22 advantage at half-time, Yannakis did not depend too much on his veteran players.

Point guard Christoforos Stefanidis, who was averaging 3.5 points over the first two games, led Maroussi with 13 on five of six shooting, including three of three from three-point range. The 18-year old Petros Noeas added 5 points and a team high 8 rebounds.

Next week will be a battle of the car teams.

Maroussi Honda take on Hapoel Subaru, while the Dutch team MPC Capitals face Slask.
