Marvelous Hatten Leads Hapoel To Convincing Win

Hapoel Subaru trailed 18-13 after the opening quarter at Slask Wroclaw but hit back to trounce their hosts, 70-55 in Poland.

Marcus Hatten, who tore apart Hapoel Jerusalem in his club's last Israeli top flight game with 29 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, was equally devastating against the Polish team with 33 points, eight boards and five steals.

After the opening frame, the Israeli team outscored Slask 39-21 to take command.

Hapoel outrebounded Slask 38-29. Most of the damage they inflicted on their hosts offensively came inside the arc where they were 27 of 51 (52.9%) for the game.

The visitors only attempted five three-pointers on the night, making one, while their Slask were seven of 29 (24.1%).

The free throw line was a horror show for both teams. Slask were eight of 17 (47%) from the line while Hapoel were 13 of 24 (54.2%).

Kamil Chanas had 22 points for Slask on nine of 17 shooting, including three of eight from long range.

Hapoel will have their hands full next week as they travel to Maroussi, who came from behind in the first game between the two sides to claim a thrilling victory.

Slask's next opponents are MPC Capitals.
