Wells Impresses In Nahariya Debut

Ironi Iscar Nahariya made a solid start to their EuroCup campaign on Tuesday night handing visitors Basket Swans Gmunden a 95-76 defeat.

Nahariya were within a whisker of the FIBA Europe League Final Four in 2005, losing a tight series against eventual runners-up BC Kyiv 2-1. Gmunden, on the other hand, are making their debut in European competition and Nahariya's experiece proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Gmunden managed to make a game of it for thirty minutes, but Nahariya were too strong down the stretch.

Leading 72-64 after three quarters, Nahariya pressed home their advantage in the final period, outscoring Gmunden 23-12.

New signing Jayson Wells did a little bit of everything for Nahariya, notching 27 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, while guard Avi Soucar weighed in with 14 points and 9 assists.
