Dexia Spring Cantu Upset
// 01 November 2005

Dexia Mons-Hainaut secured a narrow 80-77 win over Cantu in the EuroCup group C game on Tuesday.

The Belgian outfit had lost their first game of the competition at the buzzer against BC Siauliai, but bounced to claim their first win of the campaign.

Dexia led 39-38 at half-time, which they extended to 58-54 at the end of the third quarter in a tightly contested match.

American forward Kevin Houston built the platform for Dexia's win by pouring in 21 points and pulling down eight boards.

It was a Houston bucket which tied the scores at 64-64 after Cantu had led for most of the second half.

5 consecutive points from Croatian guard Igor Milicic then gave Dexia the daylight they needed (71-66) and they held on for victory.

Phillip Jones lead the fight for Cantu as he contributed 17 points but it wasn't enough to prevent his side's defeat.
