Brno 105 Albacomp 97

Czech side A Plus ZS Brno put on an offensive clinic against Hungarian opponents Albacomp in the FIBA Europe Cup. Brno nailed 51% of all field goal attempts, including 52% from the 3-pt line to outlast Albacomp in what proved to be an offensive slugfest.

It was Brno's consistency in the home stretch which brought victory. Although they maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game, Albacomp came back in the 4th quarter.

The Hungarian side began to hit some shots of their own and their increased defensive intensity saw them come back to within 4 points, 101-97, in the last minute of play.

With game MVP Jiri Cernosek (23 points) and Igor Kovacevic (14 points) on the bench with 5 fouls, Brno's grip on the game suddenly didn't seem so firm.

But a technical foul proved to be Albacomp's undoing. It was Serb & Montenegrin veteran Zoran Nisavic who was called for the "T" after protesting a call, and it was enough to allow Brno to hold on for the win.
