GAME REPORT

Albacomp 103 vs. CAB Madeira 74

After a tough 2-point victory in Portugal against CAB Madeira, Hungarian side Albacomp Székesfehérvár beat Madeira 103-74 in the home leg and ensured a series win.

Ferenc Bodi
Albacomp wanted to decide the game as quickly as possible, but they had problems against a tough Madeira defense. Albacomp guard Jermaine Spivey, who had 27 points in the first game, was also having problems finding his offense. It was fellow guard Zoran Nisavic who stepped up for Albacomp and the home side took a 10-point lead into the first quarter break, 23-13.

Albacomp were able to increase their lead in the second quarter, mainly thanks to some accurate three-point shooting. The lead swelled to 18-points at the half, but Madeira were still not out of the contest.

It was the third quarter which decided the game, and the main contribution came from Ferenc Bodi. The 198 cm forward caught fire from the three-point line, hitting four three-pointers in a row. By the end of the period, Albacomp led by 36 points and Madeira's hopes for a FIBA Europe Cup crown were over.

Although Spivey struggled with his shooting, he contributed 14 points and 7 assists to his side's victory. Kenneth Younger top scored with 23 points and Bodi had a season high 22, finishing 6/7 from three-point land.
