BK Lotos 87 vs. Gambrinus JME 72

Lotos Gdynia downed Gamrbrinus Brno on Friday night in the EuroLeague Women quarter-final play-offs. The series is now tied at 1-1 and the deciding contest will be played on Thursday 24th March in Brno.

Elaine Powell, who commited a key turnover which eventually costed Lotos a loss in the first game, made up for her carelessness in Gdynia.

The American guard finished with a game high 23 points and MVP honours. Two other Gdynia stars: Margo Dydek and Deanna Nolan scored over 20 points.

Gdynia took advantage of a poor shooting night from Brno to build an 18-point halftime lead.

The Czech side came out in more determined mood in the second half, but they were still no match for Gdynia.

The trio of Nolan, Dydek and Powell were simply too much for the visitors who had no answer for their combined firepower.

Taj McWilliams was the only Brno player to put up a fight and she netted 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the loss. Brno's game one hero Zuzanna Zirkova (she hit the game winning three pointer) scored 11 points.
