MiZo-Pécsi VSK are on the way to a third EuroLeague Women Final Four in the past four seasons. The Hungarian side qualified in style on Thursday evening, soundly beating French side Bourges, 70-54, in front of a capacity crowd of 4,500 at the Lauber Dezso arena in Pecs.

Breaking out of a month-long slump, Pécs produced their best game this season, riding a stellar performance from Korlajka Hlede of Croatia and Hungarian national team member Andrea Károlyi, who scored 15 and 16 points respectively.

Bourges kicked off the game better, scoring the first basket, but trailing 1-4, Pécs took the lead for good with a 8-0 run. Károlyi was her old and imposing self, Hlede played fearlessly and at half-time the Hungarian champions were up by ten (36-26).

Karolyi continued to play brilliantly in the third period, nailing a trey, even though Pécs were playing without their team captain, Dalma Iványi, who got in early foul trouble.

When the point guard came back, she was able to give some lift to the team, although Zsófia Fegyverneky had replaced her perfectly.

During the final ten minutes Bourges came back with their ususal weapon – the full-court press -, but this time it did not work. Hlede and Iványi maintained the difference with good long-shooting, and when the final buzzer sounded, the crowd started chanting: "Final Four, Final Four!"
