A powerful performance from Russian side Samara was too much for Valencia in their EuroLeague Women quarter-final play-off series. Samara simply had too much firepower for Valencia and powered their way to a 45-75 victory and a first Final Four appearance.

The home side got off to a quick start on the back of Chamique Holdsclaw, who nailed six quick points. The lead however flip-flopped back and forth throughout the first quarter, as both teams used balanced play and tough defense as a means of attack. Olga Arteshina led the way for VBM-SGAU, and with her eight points the visitors took a slight three-point lead into the second quarter.

The second period turned out to be a total flop for the home side. Plagued by turnovers and missed lay-ups, they went scoreless until the six-minute mark when Sonja Kireta finally hit a jumper.

Unfortunately for Ros Casares this would be their last bucket of the half. The visitors were not shooting lights-out either, but with their activity on the offensive boards getting them second and third looks at the basket they went on to a 21-42 lead at the half.

The second half of the game was totally dominated by VBM-SGAU as they continued to use balanced play coupled with strong rebounding. At the end of play, the visitors won 45-75 and with the victory have qualified for the Final Four.
