Lietuvos telekomas got off to a good start in their first appearance in the EuroLeague Women play-offs since 2001.
Although Dexia managed to neutralise Douglas, her teammates stepped up to take the offensive load. Rima Valentiene hit 5/9 three-pointers to tie a season high 18 points and Sandra Valuzyte added 18 of her own, also a season best.
Lietuvos controlled the pace throughout and although Dexia stayed close, they could not take the advantage.
Dexia threatened in the second period, drawing to within 1 point (27-26), but 7 straight points from Jurgita Streimikyte-Virbickiene soon saw Lietuvos telekomas back in front.
The Belgian side attempted a last ditch comeback in the final period, but could get no closer than 4 points. Lietuvos telekomas stretched away in the closing minutes and are one step away from the quarter-final play-offs.
Algirdas Paulauskas, Head Coach, Lietuvos telekomas:
"We felt some psychological pressure and this is why the game was so hard for us."
Rima Valentiene, Lietuvos telekomas:
"It will be hard in Belgium, but I hope that Belgians will not return to Vilnius."
Patrick Delsaux, Head Coach Dexia Namur:
"We played a good game in defense, but lost on rebounds. This is what we have to improve if we are about to win at home."
