BK Lotos 91 vs. Tarbes GB 80

Lotos Gdynia welcomed back Elaine Powell and Monika Veselovsky for the match-up against French side Tarbes. Both players were missing from Gdynia's loss last week in Namur, which provided extra motivation for the home team to record their first win of 2005.

The game proved to be as close as the first between the two sides in Tarbes, which Gdynia won 74-82. After a close first half, Gdynia edged the visitors in the first half 42-39.

In the third quarter Margo Dydek put on a one-man show, contributing 30 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocked shots for the game, all season highs.

Tarbes had no answer for Dydek's dominance and Gdynia built a 71-57 lead at the 30th minute. 

Gdynia coach Kysztof Koziorowicz went to his bench in the 4th quarter, and Gdynia had problems with Laure Savasta and Penda Sy, who brought Tarbes back to within 6 points at the 38 minute mark.

But Margo and Deanna Nolan came back off the bench and secured the victory for Gdynia.
