MiZo-Pecsi VSK 83 vs. Sporting Athens 40
// 09 February 2005

As expected, MiZo-Pecsi VSK came out strong in their match against Sporting Athens, and was able to dominate on both ends of the court. After a few minutes it became evident why the home team is the leader in Group B of the FIBA Euroleague Women. With their smothering defense and their ability to score at ease, MiZo-Pecsi took control of the game from the tip.

Ekaterina Lisina had 16 points and 8 rebounds
The game was practically over after the first eight minutes as MiZo-Pecsi went on a 17-0 run to start off the game. The visitors were finally able to get on the board when Ancuta Stoenescu hit two free throws. However the scoring floodgates did not open up at this point, and after the first ten minutes of play the score was 23-6.

The second quarter saw no improvements for Athens as they were unable to get good scoring opportunities and had several unforced turnovers. Stoenescu was the only scoring threat for Athens as she hit 12 of her teams 17 points in the first half. After a continued offensive fury from MiZo-Pecsi the score after 20 minutes was 40-17.

The second half played out in much the same fashion as the first. The home side was able to extend their lead in the third quarter to over thirty points and in the fourth to over forty points. Ekaterina Lisina was elected the game's MVP with her 16 points, 8 rebounds, and five assists. In the end MiZo-Pecsi cruised to an 83-40 win over last-placed Sporting Athens.
