Gambrinus JME 86 vs. Kozachka - Zalk 58
// 09 February 2005

There were no surprises in Brno tonight, as Group A leaders Gambrinus JME took on sixth-placed Kozachka-Zalk in the FIBA Euroleague Women. From the tip it appeared as though the home team would be unstoppable as they took an early five-point lead thanks to strong play from Hana Machova. However in the seventh minute the visitors clawed their way back and went up by one.

As a result of strong inside play, the score remained deadlocked at 20-20 until in the final seconds Eva Vitecková drained a three to give the home team the advantage after 10 minutes. Throughout the second quarter Brno regained their confidence, and with balanced scoring and good defense took a 12-point lead into the locker room.

The second half was marred again by inconsistent play from the home team. Kozachka stepped up their defensive play and activity on the boards, and managed to cut their deficit to a slim two points just before the end of the third.

Machova and Ivana Vecerova continued their decisive play in the fourth quarter and thanks to balanced scoring (6 players in double digits), Brno went on to win dominantly 86-58. Vecereova and Taj McWilliams highlighted the stat sheet with 19 points apiece.
