GAME REPORT
BOXSCORE
US Valenciennes Olympic 82 vs. TS Wisla Can-Pack 65
// 19 January 2005

It was reunion time in Valenciennes against Polish side Krakow as the EuroLeague Women champions welcomed back captain Audrey Sauret. Sauret has been unavailable for the entire 2004/2005 season after injuring her knee in the 2004 French league finals.

Audrey Sauret
Although Sauret's statistical contribution to the game was relatively minimal (she scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 19 minutes of action) her presence lifted her team-mates to an easy victory over the Polish visitors.

Krakow produced a respectable first half against the French giants, including a perfect 4/4 from three-point land in the second quarter which saw them trail by just 4 points at halftime, 44-40.

But there was to be no stopping USVO from winning their third consecutive EuroLeague Women contest.

Sandra Le Dréan led USVO with 17 points on 8/10 shooting, while Lucienne Berthieu added 15 points and 8 rebounds.

Laurent Buffard, Head Coach Valenciennes:

"Our team was complete for the first time this season. It allowed us to do use different rotations which tired our adversary out. Our team showed during these 40 minutes their will to do well and particularly to play together.

Personally I’ve never doubted our abilities but we have to recognize that, in the last few games, we haven't played as well as we hoped for. We are on the road of revival, we are going to speed up."
