Lietuvos Telekomas Vilnius had little trouble disposing of Baltiskaya Zwezda in their Group A match-up tonight in Lithuania. The win was the Lithuanian champions' 7th of the season and sees them regain top spot in the group.
The home side were without star center Jurgita Streimikyte-Virbickiene, but still had too much firepower for Baltiskaya to deal with.
Vilnius had already amassed a 22-point lead by halftime, but in the third quarter they really showed their dominance, outscoring the guests 25-2 to put the contest well and truly out of reach for Baltiskaya.
Katie Douglas was once again the driving force of Vilnius' offense and she finished the game with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Egle Sulcuite continued her good form for the home team, contributing 14 points and 9 rebounds to the victory.
Algirdas Paulauskas, Head Coach Lietuvos Telekomas:
"We played a really good game for three quarters. Probably the worst moment was in the second quarter when we had an 18-point advantage and allowed our opponents to minimise it to 10. I am glad that the team had the right kind of motivation playing against Baltiskaya Zvezda."
Evgenij Borzilov, Head Coach Baltiskaya Zwezda:
"The stronger team won. My team is very young so it is hard to play against such an experienced team."
