GAME REPORT
BOXSCORE
Dynamo St. Petersburg 88 vs. Azovmash 77
// 15 March 2005

Dynamo St. Petersburg continue their run as the FIBA Europe League's form team.

Dynamo cruised to a home win against Ukrainian side Azovmash Mariupol in game one of their quarter-final play-off series Tuesday night.

Jon Stefansson was the key performer for Dynamo. When he wasn't scoring (22 points on 9/13 shooting) he was finding teammates for easy baskets (9 assists). Stefansson was the heart of his side's offense and they sailed to a 17-point halftime lead, 47-30.

Azovmash fought back in the second half and gradually began to close Dynamo's gap. Art Long had a great game for the visitors and led all players with 34 points and 13 rebounds.

But it was Long whose mistake put a serious dent in Azovmash's comeback hopes. Azovmash were within 5 points of Dynamo in the fourth quarter (73-68), when Long protested a foul call a little too vigorously.

The result was a technical foul and it gave Dynamo the breathing space they needed to hang on for the win.
