GAME REPORT

Fenerbahce SK 93 vs. Besiktas JK 73

Another astounding peformance from Fenerbahce star Damir Mrsic sparked Fenerbahce to victory over Istanbul rivals Besiktas in the FIBA Europe League quarter-finals.

Mrsic exploded for 17 fourth quarter points (he had 20 in the fourth quarter of game one) and his outburst spurred Fenerbace to the win and into the Final Four.

Just as in game 1, the first 3 quarters were close and Fenerbahce had a 6-point lead going into the final period.

In game 1 Fenerbahce scored 31 fourth quarter points. This time they went one better, drilling a total of 36 points and stunning their opponents in the process.

The home side looked to be in trouble after just 10 minutes of play, when center Trevor Harvey picked up his third foul. But Mrsic kept the scoreboard ticking over for his side and they kept their noses in front.

And it was Mrsic who led from the front in a thrilling final 10 minutes. The Bosnia & Herzegovina national team star hit four 3-pointers, and along with scoring contributions from Rasim Basak and Marc Salyers, Fenerbahce pulled away from Besiktas.

Mrsic finished the contest with 37 points to his name, along with 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Salyers added 21 points and 9 rebounds to the winning cause.
