Oscar Torres was on fine form for Khimki
Other than a second quarter offensive lapse, Khimki were an offensive force against Dijon. The Russian side shot 53% from the field during the game and outscored Dijon 19-29 in the opening 10 minutes.
Khimki allowed the French side back into the contest in the second quarter as they suddenly struggled with their shooting, and by halftime their lead was reduced to 1 point, 42-43.
As soon as the second half started, Khimki rediscovered their touch. They ammassed 35 points in the third quarter, enough for a 17-point lead, and cantered to victory in the fourth.
Ruben Wolkowisky added 17 points to Torres' 30 and Melvin Booker scored 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished 5 assists.
Khimki now face fellow Russian side and FIBA Europe League champions Unics Kazan in the quarter-final play-offs. The two sides have had similar fortunes in the Russian Superleague where Kazan currently lie in 3rd postition (13-6) and Khimki are in 5th (12-7).
In their 2 domestic match-ups so far this season, Kazan has won on both occasions, including a 96-93 victory in Kazan on 8th January.
Game 1 of the 3-game series will be on 15th March in Moscow.
