GAME REPORT

Dynamo 107 vs. BC Khimik 99

Dynamo St. Petersburg went on to beat BC Khimik 107-99 tonight, in an exciting and evenly-played game. With this home win, Dynamo captured its third straight victory in the FIBA Europe League and remains the only undefeated team in Group D.

Dynamo took an early lead, as all five starters tallied points in the first four minutes of play. When the home team led 11-6, Khimik substituted Serhiy Lishchuk into the game for a spark. By the middle of the second quarter the Ukrainian power forward led his team with 15 points.

Unfortunately for the visiting Ukrainian team, Lishchuk picked up his third foul and had to be replaced towards the end of the second quarter. This proved to be the turning point for Dynamo, as they went on an 11-point run to close out the half ahead 46-35.

At the half Head Coach of BC Khimik, Zvezdan Mitrovic, delivered a motivating speech and his team went on to score 39 points in the third quarter. Nerijus Varnelis and Mladan Silobad were the top players of the quarter for Khimik.

Dynamo struggled in the third period of play as one of their key players, Vladimir Veremeenko, picked up his fourth foul at the start and had to be substituted out. Khimik was able to take advantage of the situation, and had a three-point advantage at the start of the fourth quarter.
With 1:30 remaining in the game Dynamo had fought back to regain a four-point lead, however they were unable to come up with a defensive stop and Khimik leveled the game at 93. The visitors had a chance at the end for a three-pointer to win the game, but Dmytro Bazelevskyy's shot was off the mark as time expired.

From the start of the first overtime period Dynamo proved to be in control. With Andrey Ivanov's three-pointer and Jon Steffansson's fast break points, the home team took a five point lead. Khimik was never able to recover and were defeated 107-99.
