GAME REPORT

Anwil 67 vs. Demon Astronauts 51

Anwil Wloclawek avenged an away defeat against Demon Astronauts Amsterdam, defeating the Dutch side at home to move into 5th place in Group C.

Defense was the key to the game and Anwil held Amsterdam's top scorer Teddy Gipson to just 10 points.

Anwil took a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes, but after a nervy start, Amsterdam began to work their way back into the contest. The visitors started the second quarter with a 7-0 run of their own, but Anwil began to tighten their defensive grip on the game, taking a 30-28 lead into halftime.

It was the third quarter that decided the game. Gintaras Kadziulis and Dante Swanson provided the offensive thrust and Anwil moved into a 10-point lead. Amsterdam were unable to reply, mainly due to Anwil's defense, and the home side cruised home to victory.

Kadziulis finished the game wtih 22 points on 5/8 three-point shooting while Swanson added 14.

Amsterdam made just 1/20 of their three-point attempts, including 1/9 by Gipson, who has shot 5/39 in his last five FIBA Europe League outings.
