GAME REPORTVichy finally won easily 84-72 against French rival Hyeres even though their key players Dwayne Morton (broken finger) and Babou Cisse (knee-injury) were missing. Toulon couldn’t compensate for the lack of US point-guard Jason Rowe.
With only 1500 fans in the Gym the two teams played equally in the first quarter. But in the second period Vichy began to sweep away their opponents with strong team play and three efficient shooters Stephane Dondon, Gordan Zadravec and Christopher Cologer. With this JA increased their lead from one to 14 points, outscoring the visitors by 13 points in only ten minutes.
In the second half Vichy’s Head Coach Jean-Michel Senegal gave all of his players as many minutes on the court as possible. Nevertheless, Hyeres wasn’t able to put pressure on the hosts and get back into the ball game.
In one week the European challenge will continue with the next game between the two teams in Toulon.
