GAME REPORT

Mitteldeutscher BC 107 TSK Würzburg 83

Mitteldeutsche BC did not have difficulty in beating their German Bundesliga opponent TSK Würzburg in front of 500 spectators by 107:83. This win paved the way to the conference final which will be played tomorrow at 6 p.m in Debreceni.

TSK Würzburg could keep up with MBC for the first 20 minutes, but the team of Henrik Dettmann did not want to loose against a nominal weaker team after their two defeats in the German league. At halftime, the score was 46:44.

MBS started powerfully into the second half. The Würzburg players showed some weaknesses from the distance and exactly the opposite was expected from the team without a center. Only five out of nineteen shots reached the basket.

The MBC, however, was a lot more successful - ten out of sixteen shots went in. This gave the players the power to significantly win the two last quarters by 28:16 and 33:23.

The final score was 107:83.

Henrik Dettmann, Head Coach, Mitteldeutscher BC:

"Especially in the second half we played very good. In the third quarter, the great defense helped us to strengthen our position. The fact that we won the second half by 22 points is a symbol four our strength in the semi-final. We are now fully concentrated on the final."
