Kalev Tallinn 82 Dynamo Moscow 97

Kalev Tallinn put up a brave fight tonight against Group D leaders Dynamo Moscow, but they were unable to avoid their 7th consecutive loss in the competition, going down 82:97.

Dynamo Moscow were encouraged by the debut of new player Kenajn Dzons (whose name changed from Kenyon Jones when he received citizenship from FYROM). The American/FYROM forward earned MVP honours in his first FIBA Europe League game, contributing 21 points and 11 rebounds to his side's victory.

A red hot start from Tallinn gave the home team early hope, as Gregor Arbet exploded for 9 points in the first 5 minutes to give his side an 18:11 lead in the opening minutes. A 12:2 run from Dynamo calmed the game down somewhat and by the end of 1st quarter the scored was tied at 28:28.

It was not until the 3rd quarter that the Russians asserted their dominance on the game. A 14:0 run was enough to take the sting out of the home side as Dynamo led 75:51. Arbet continued his hot shooting for Kalev, and his 3-pointer cut the score to 70:83 with 5 minutes left in the game, but Kalev would not get any closer to Dynamo.

Serguei Demechkine added 17 points for Dynamo, while Ilver finished with 25 for Tallinn and Arbet had 25.
