MBC Odessa 81 - SLUC Nancy 64

MBC Odessa recorded their first FIBA Europe League victory of the season tonight, after beating French side SLUC Nancy, 81:64.

The outstanding performance from the home team was supplied by forward Gennadiy Kuznyetsov, who scored 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in 28 minutes of playing time.

Both teams began the game poorly and after 6 minutes, the score was just 5:7 in favour of Nancy.

Nancy struggled with their shooting all evening, with guard Randolph Childress having particular problems, 3/10 from behind the arc.

The introuduction of Odessa's star player Edmunds Valeiko tipped the balance in their favour and his 2 3-pointers sparked his team. By halftime they had built an 11-point lead (39:28).

Nancy were unable to come back into the match in the second half, as the Ukrainians proved too strong. Odessa thoroughly deserved their first win and the game ended 81:64.
