Tuesday night brought a third straight win for ARIS Castrol in this years FEL, putting them back in pace for taking one of the top two spots in Group C.
What made coach, players, and fans more happy was the fact that they more than covered the spread from the seven point loss in Tel Aviv, giving ARIS Castrol the advantage in the case that the two teams finish with equal points.
Moving on to the game, it began a close battle between the two teams, with ARIS having a slight advantage, thanks to Kommatos' scoring, Vetoulas' passing, and Nikkila's rebounds.
The Israelis weren't intent on letting ARIS take advantage of the home court, and Wright quickly brought the game on level grounds, as it seemed no one could stop him in the paint.
With the lead now in the hands of Hapoel, and the first half over, it seemed that the scale had tipped to the other side, and that Hapoel would be able to fight their way to a win in Greece.
The entrance of Lappas onto the court seemed to change things. With 2 spectacular layups and a 3 pointer, he brought his teams spirit up and led ARIS to a 15-0 run, taking a 7 point lead.
With Parker giving a show on how a point guard is supposed to play, Kommatos scoring, and Likholitov taking care of business in the paint, the rest of the game was a fight for the clock to see if ARIS could get the needed point spread of over 7 points.
Good defence and well organized 24 second offenses were enough for ARIS Castrol to reach an 11 point win, and give hope for even better appearances in the future.
MVP: Nestoras Kommatos
