Ural Great went into tonight’s home game against the Honka Playboys as huge favourites, and did not disappoint as they dispatched the Finnish champions, 94:51.
Honka have yet to win a game this season in the FIBA Europe League, and Perm was certainly a tough place to start. Ural Great are unbeaten at home, where they have amassed a perfect 4-0 record.
True to form, Ural Great found their defensive rhythm almost straight away, not allowing Honka to score until the 6th minute of the game. The first quarter finished 21:6 in the home team’s favour and Ural Great were well on the way to a comfortable night’s work.
To Honka’s credit, they went on a 10-0 run in the 2nd quarter behind guard Steven Woodberry. But it would not be enough, as Ural Great finished the quarter up 40:25 and in complete control of the game.
