Polonia-Warbud Warszawa 76 GHP Bamberg 81

Bamberg continued with their good form in the FIBA Europe League with an 81:76 victory over Polish side Polonia Warbud. Bamberg welcomed back forward Jason Sasser, who had missed the last 2 FEL games due to injury, and he netted 32 points for the Germans including a key clutch 3-pointer with time winding down.

Bamberg started the contest as the stronger side and a combination of good shooting and poor defense from Polonia saw them take a 19-point first half lead, 53:34.

It wasn't until after the break that Polonia seemed to wake up, but that's exactly what they did. Strong defense and several 3-pointers allowed the Polish side to come right back into the game. With 1 minute to go on the, the comeback looked complete as Eric Elliott's 3-pointer cut Bamberg's lead to just 1 point, 74:73.

Sasser, seemingly unaffected by his lay-off, then took control of the game for Bamberg, hitting a 3-pointer plus 2 free throws to give his side the cushion they needed to close the game.

Gert Kullamäe added 16 points to Sasser's 32, while Dutch center Mike Nahar continued his good form with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Slovenian point guard Walter Jeklin led the home side with 21 points, hitting all 5 of his 3-point attempts.
