Unics Kazan 65 STB Le Havre 57

On arriving at Kazan the head coach of French team Eric Girard told local journalists that his team would struggle against UNICS. He was right. However, the French team played a good game.

UNICS started with the following line-up: Keirou, Greer, Kubrakov, Khryapa, Zukauskas, who faced Greer, Jeanneau, Guice, Durham and Alexander in the French starting five.

Kazan played very fast and had dominated in the individual game. But the French side played excellent team defense, which meant UNICS could not get the early gap they were looking for: 17:13 after the first period.

Kazan played in the same style in the second period and the half time score stood at 30:22.

The French played successful offence in addition to their good defense in the third period and Lewis reduced the score to 2 points – 30:28. In the 4th minute Durham tired the score but in the 5th minute he picked up a disqualifying foul. Going into the final period UNICS were only 1 point ahead – 43:42.
The now tense game did not change in the 4th period.  With 2 minutes left to play the home side was winning by 3 points – 58:55. And in the final minutes it was stronger of hte two teams. The final score – 65:57.
