National team captain Andrea Karolyi and Australian forward Allison Tranquilli proved to be accurate with their long range touch, as they hit several 3-pointers to give Pecs a 9-point cushion at the end of the quarter, 25-16.
Gydnia managed to gradually work their way back into the game and a 3-pointer from Agnieszka Bibrzycka with 4 minutes to go in the game, cut Pecs' lead to 2-points, 55-53.
It proved to be a nervy close for the home team, but solid free throw shooting from Chantelle Anderson and Dalma Ivanyi saw them hold on for the win.
Anderson was the game high scorer with 18 points. Karoyli added 14 and Ivanyi had 15 points, 8 steals, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Bibrzycka scored 17 points for Gydnia while Dydek was held to just 4 points on 1/8 shooting.
