Pecs picked up their second victory in the EuroLeague Women this season, over Polish Champions Gdynia. 3,500 spectators watched the Hungarians play a clever tactical game as they manage to neutralise 213 cm Polish center Margot Dydek and hold Gdynia to just 56 points.

Pecs raced out of the block to score the first 7 points of the game, but Gydnia took an early timeout and reeled of 7 of their own to tie the score.

National team captain Andrea Karolyi and Australian forward Allison Tranquilli proved to be accurate with their long range touch, as they hit several 3-pointers to give Pecs a 9-point cushion at the end of the quarter, 25-16.

Gydnia managed to gradually work their way back into the game and a 3-pointer from Agnieszka Bibrzycka with 4 minutes to go in the game, cut Pecs' lead to 2-points, 55-53.

It proved to be a nervy close for the home team, but solid free throw shooting from Chantelle Anderson and Dalma Ivanyi saw them hold on for the win.

Anderson was the game high scorer with 18 points. Karoyli added 14 and Ivanyi had 15 points, 8 steals, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Bibrzycka scored 17 points for Gydnia while Dydek was held to just 4 points on 1/8 shooting.

MVP of the game: Dalma Ivanyi (MIZO-Pecsi VSK)
