Lavezzini Parma surprised Gambrinus Brno with their first victory in this year´s EuroLeague Women, knocking off the Groupleaders 66-62.

Brno started very ambiguously and pushed the score after to 13-3 after five minutes. Although their free throw shooting was very poor. They couldn´t convert on the first five attempts from the line. So Parma was able to stay in the game. After first quater, the Italians trailed by eight points.

In the second quarter Parma's Gordana Grubin and Taj McWillimams took control and managed to get Lavezzini closer. Brno had big shooting problems and even more to control the ball. They lost a lost of rebounds to the more agressive Italians. But Brno held on to the lead at the half (37-35).

The third quarter started with a three pointer from Brno´s best player, Romana Hamzova. She gave the Czechs a 50:43-lead. But Brno played very nervously, turned the ball over on several occacions and finally lost the quarter 10:19.

Gordana Grubin showed a great performance in the last quarter and scored a game high 26 points. Parma led 54:60, four minutes from the end the game seamed to be won for the Italian side. But Brno took their last chance and tied the thrilling match with a three-point-shot from Eva Viteckova (60:60). But in the last two minutes Parma showed excellent tactics and suprised the Czechs with a 62:66 upset.
