In their third home game in this year’s FIBA Europe League Women, the team of Aix showed a lot of power and energy which eventually led to an easy victory against the visitors from Sopron (71:47).
Pays d’Aix Basket 13 had an excellent start and led already 5-0 after a few minutes thanks to Lara Mandic. Nothing seemed to be working for the Hungarians but Pays also struggled a little bit on offense and the quarter finished with both teams combining for just 16 points (11:5).
Sopron continued to have problems in the second quarter, and would indeed for the whole game. It just wasn't their night as they shot only 28% from the field and 36% on their 3-pointers. Aix, on the other hand, played good team basketball and continued to extend their lead.
Krist Harrower and Magali Lacroix combined for 17 points in the 3rd quarter to make the game safe for Aix, 55:31.
Sopron managed to play better in the 4th quarter, but it was too late to entertain any possible thoughts of victory.
Lacroix finished with 14 points for Aix while Harrower added 13.
Anja Vajda was the only Sopron player to crack double figures and she scored 11 points.
Game-MVP: Kristi Harrower
