Greece faced a nervous evening last night after their loss to Serbia and Monetenegro. They were forced to wait for the result of Czech Republic France, to see whether their Championship dreams were over.

Fortunately for Greeks, France lost, setting up an intriguing match-up which will see the winner advance to the quarter-finals.

Serbia & Montenegro, who were taking aim at securing a place in the quarter-finals, struggled but at least managed to win for a second time in four games.

Gordana Grubin scored 17 points, including three of seven from behind the three-point arc, to pace the winners, who led by only four points going into the final quarter before sealing a five-point win.

They take on Israel, who have been steamrollered by the competition in this tournament, in their fiinal Group A game on Wednesday.

Quotes Serbia and Montenegro - Greece

Miodrag Veskovic, Head Coach, Serbia and Montenegro

"This was a very interesting game with suspense at the end. Greece played very well and it wouldn't have been a surprise if they had won the game."

"We were relaxed at the end and we have a deeper team. I wish the Greek team the best of luck and I hope they continue to develop women's basketball."

Hajdana Radunovic, Serbia and Montenegro

"Greece played well. This was an important game for us and we are now in the top 8, but we still want to win tomorrow."

Giorgos Tsitkars, Head Coach, Greece

"The was our best game in the tournament. We lost for 2 reasons, we didn't rebound and we couldn't match their inside players."

"We have to hope that France loses to the Czech Republic and we will have to play the game of our life to qualify for the final 8."

Polymnia Sarekgou, Greece

"This was a very hard game. One team had to lose and unfortunately it was us."

"We have to wait now for the result of the France Czech Republic game."
