Turkey proved much too strong for the Czech Republic as the hosts started their U18 European Championship with a comfortable 101-51 victory in Group C.
Ege Arar led the way with 18 points while Okben Ulubay had 12 points and Berk Ugurlu and Dogus Özdemiroglu both had 10. Matej Svoboda led the Czechs with 10 points.
Turning point: The Czechs led 10-6 in the early going when Turkey went on a 15-1 run to open a double-digit advantage. And the margin was 34-17 after a 9-0 and the hosts never were threatened again.
