EuroLeague Women All Star Game Subs Announced

FIBA Europe has announced the 14 substitutes and the technical staff that will participate in the EuroLeague Women All Star Game between teams representing Europe and the Rest Of The World which will take in Gdynia, Poland on March 9th.

The players were selected based on a public vote, collected throughout the months of December and January on

As announced earlier this week the starters for Europe will be Becky Hammon (Ros Casares), Marta Fernandez (Wisla Can-Pack), Nevriye Yilmaz (Fenerbahce), and Agnieszka Bibrzycka and Sandrine Gruda of UMMC Ekaterinburg.

Emmeline Ndongue - C - Bourges Basket

Diana Taurasi (Spartak Moscow Region), Penny Taylor (Fenerbahce), Candice Dupree (Good Angels Kosice), Janell Burse (Wisla Can-Pack) and Sophia Young (Galatasaray) will be the starting five for the Rest of the World.

Spartak Moscow Region head coach Pokey Chatman was selected to be at the helm for the Rest Of The World. Her assistant will be Dariusz Maciejewski, head coach of KSSSE AZS-PWSZ Gorzow.

Europe will be led by Ros Casares head coach Isma Canto who will be assisted by Lotos Gdynia head coach Jacek Winnicki.

The All-Star Weekend will feature a photo opportunity and a number of social activities for the players on March 8th and 9th. The game itself will be on Tuesday March 9, with a three-point shootout taking place at half-time.

The game's venue is The Sport and Show Hall "Gdynia" at K. Gorskiego street 8, Gdynia, POL.

Former FIBA Europe Player Of The Year Anete Jekabsone-Zogota is among four players pre-selected to participate in the three-point shootout contest which will be held during the half-time interval of the All Star Game. She will be joined by Agnieszka Bibrzycka, Catherine Joens and Penny Taylor as well as two players to be appointed by the Local Organising Committee.
