The fans have spoken and selected the starting fives for the EuroLeague Women All-Star Game to take place at the home arena of Spartak Moscow Region on 13th March.
More than 10,000 fans voted with Elisa Aguilar of Ros Casares leading the way on the strength of 2,016 votes and Cappie Pondexter close behind at just under 2,000.
Aguilar will lead a Europe team featuring center Nevriye Yilmaz of Fenerbahce, Amaya Valdemoro of CSKA, Anete Jekabsone-Zogota of Dynamo Moscow and fellow guard Marta Fernandez of Wisla Can-Pack.
Pondexter will feature at forward for the Rest of the World team where she will be joined by Lauren Jackson of Spartak Moscow Region. The guards will be Diana Taurasi of Spartak and ZVVZ Prague's Lindsey Whalen with center Delisha Milton-Jones of Ros Casares rounding out the starting five.
Pondexter has spent most of the year near the top of the EuroLeague Women scoring chart and is currently averaging 21.1 points per contest. Her team, Fenerbahce, has advanced to Eight-Final where they will face Wisla Can-Pack.
Aguilar, the starting point guard for the Spanish national team, has helped lead Ros Casares to a perfect record thus far in EuroLeague Women. They will take on USVO in the Eighth-Final.
The reserves for both the Rest of the World and Europe teams will be announced by FIBA Europe on 4th February.
