Day Four Roundup



Bulgaria, Germany, Ukraine and Denmark all prevailed on Sunday in the U18 European Championship for Women Division B.

In Group B, the Finns (1-2) fell 67-60 to the undefeated Bulgarians (4-0), who were led by Borislava Hristova's 18 points.

Bulgaria trailed 45-38 heading to the last quarter but then ran Finland out of the gym, outscoring them 29-15 the rest of the way.

The Bulgarians have already punched their ticket to the Second Round.

Denmark (2-1) got 22 points, 10 rebounds and three assists from Maria Jespersen as they defeated Norway, 57-48.

The second-place Danes scored 21 of the game's first 22 points to seize control of the game from the off.

Stine Austgulen led the Norwegian fightback with 17 points but they never seriously threatened their Danish opponents.

Norway slumped to 1-2 with the setback.

In Group D, Germany rolled to a 70-55 victory over Lithuania and Ukraine beat Scotland, 55-46.

Germany, in improving to 4-0, were led by Elisabeth Dzirma's 21 points, two steals and two blocks.

TheĀ Germans have also booked their place in the Second Round.

Funmilayo Omoboogunje poured in 12 points and Oksana Batrakova had 15 boards to go with her nine points in a Ukraines's triumph over Scotland.

Ukraine improved to 1-2 and the Scots fell to 0-3.
