At EuroBasket Women 2007 and in the Olympic Games, Eglite averaged 2.2 then 3.4 points per game in 21 minutes. Not very impressive, right? However, Eglite's statistics rarely reflect her impact on the floor as Zane is an excellent supporting player. Patient, unselfish on offence and solid at the defensive end, she is an important part of Latvia national team and the first choice at point guard for coach Zvirgzdins. Unfortunately, due some injury trouble last season with TTT Riga, she was not very successful. But the experience of the EuroLeague Women she brought to her team was precious enough. Now is the time to show what she learned on the court in those games against the strongest European teams. Eglite's coolness and stability will be an important part of the team strategy.
