For a very long time, the big question in Montenegro was whether Milica Dabovic, one of the countries best-ever basketball players, would wear a Serbian or Montenegrin basketball jersey. It was not such big news in Serbia, but it certainly gave joy to women basketball fans, as well as to coach Jovica Antonic, when she decided on Serbia because the team has, for sure, a better chance to go far with a player like Milica Dabovic in the lineup. Alongside Monika Veselovski, Dabovic is one of the most experienced players on the team, and she will be one of the leading playmakers in the game.

Milica is an energizer on the court as well as off of it, a great motivator for team-mates and a true leader. Her ball-handling skills are beyond question which is hardly a surprise considering she has spent half of her life with the ball in her hands.

Milica comes from a ‘’basketball family’’ as she and her youngest sister Ana, have a great chance to make their names noticed in the basketball World. Milica first stepped onto the court when she was 12. Very soon it became obvious that she was a great talent. Soon she became irreplaceable in her club, Herceg Novi, regularly scoring more then 40 points during games in the Serbian league.

In 2002 her destiny led her to Beopetrol, then one of the most stable first league teams in the country. A year later, she put on the Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) jersey and had success there as well.

She pursued her carrier in ‘Vojvodina’ Novi Sad, before signing with Russian powerhouse, Ekaterinburg, led at that time by Serbia & Montenegro coach, Zoran Visic. The Russian episode in her carrier didn't stop there, as after Ekaterinburg, Dabovic continued at Spartak Moscow Region. However, as she wasn’t given enough playing time, she soon decided to transfer to TEO Viljnus. The decision turned out to be right, as her new club won the Baltic League, then the Lithuanian Championship soon after.

Her good showing in Lithuania did not go unnoticed, and after the season was over, Dynamo Moscow Region showed interest in her and next season Dabovic will be in Russia again.
