Marta Cakic

Career: Jolly Sibenik (Croatia-A1, 2001-05), Gospic Industrogradnja (Croatia-A1, 2005-06), Buducnost Podgorica (Montenegro-Premier League, 2006-07)

Marta Cakic is an average scorer for a shooting guard, although she can shoot the threes. In the past, she was just some additional member for the national team, as her playing time was always very limited. In the year 2002, due to some good games with Jolly Sibenik in domestic as well as European competitions, Marta received an award as the best female athlete in "Sibensko-kninska region". She spent last season in Montenegro, in Buducnost, and even if she was one of the main players, her stats weren’t impressive. She shot with more accuracy from three than two points range (43/107, 40%, from 2-points and 51-124 from behind the arc). Coach Antic-Mrdalj called her for few B team tests early this summer and she was the only one that remained in the squad for EuroBasket. Marta will be the probable substitute for talented Jelena Ivezic.
