Amanda Zahui and Sweden have something left to prove. So do Spain though, and they both want to leave Romania with a medal, even if it is the bronze

If, for Sweden, fighting for the bronze medal at the Global Vision U18 European Championship Women is something of a prize, for Spain, considered one of the favourites of the competition, it is a big dissapointment.

Both teams still have something to prove though.

Sweden's display in the semi-final with France was terrible. It was a nightmare game for the entire team, but especially for their star Amanda Zahui, who went scoreless in that 37-80 defeat.

The Scandinavians are eager to show the world that they're much better that that and remind everyone of the team that reached the last four of the competition thanks to seom fantastic performances.

On the other side, the Spanish players will have to wipe out their tears and recover in time to fight for a medal, even it will not be the most shiny one.

Spain still tops the Championship in scoring (76.8 points per game), points allowed per game  (45.6), in field goal percentage (44.5), in total rebounds (45.8 boards per game) and in assists (16.0 per game).

The only statistical category in which they lost the first place after the Saturday semi-final games is steals, where the Czech Republic is now on top, with 13.3 per game, to 12.8 of the Spanish team.

Sweden bests the Spanish in free throw percentage, with 71.8 percent, while the Iberians have 67.2 percent.

After Belgium's Emma Meesseman, Astou Ndour will have another tough opponent under the basket in Amanda Zahui.

Both players are leading their teams in scoring, rebounds and blocks.

Ndour has 13.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks, while Zahui totals 14.4, 8.6 and 1.6 in the respective categories.
