Spain Too Much For Hungary

Defending champions Spain cruised to an easy 72-40 victory over Hungary in Group A action at the U18 European Championship Women 2010 in Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia.

The Spanish performance was much superior to that of Hungary who failed for the second day in a row. Spain dished out 19 assists and had a 53.3 field goal shooting percentage while Hungary's respective numbers were seven and 32.0.   

Elena Diaz contributed with 14 points and Marta Claret added 10 points and eight rebounds for the winners.

Hungary had improved averages in the first half but committed a total of 14 turnovers in that period, when Spain gained a 30-23 lead.

Spain came out confident after the break and outscored their opponents 42-17.
