The Spaniards thrashed Poland 64-47 and then defeated the Russians 68-54. In a battle of unbeatens, Miguel Mendez's team cruised to a 66-46 victory over France. Now all eyes will be on Pescara, Italy, where Spain and France will once again trade blows, as well as Sweden and Italy, in a friendly tournament from July 23 to 25. The U18 European Championship for Women gets underway on July 29 in Poprad, Slovakia. Spain will compete in Group A with Serbia, Hungary and hosts Slovakia. In Group B are Russia, Sweden, Belgium and Slovenia. Poland, Lithuania, Italy and Latvia will take on each other in Group C and in Group D are France, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Ukraine. France lost to Spain in last year's Final while Sweden hosted the U18 European Championship for Women and clinched a bronze medal with a triumph over the Czechs. |
