| 30.07.2010 GROUP C Poland had a good start, but Italy took control mid first quarter and cruised the rest of the way to an easy victory 70-50 over Poland in the U18 European Championship Women 2010 in Slovakia.
Lucia Morsiani had 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners.
Poland used zone defense early in the game but the Italians tuned their offense and answered with an 21-5 run behind nine points of Gaia Gorini while Magdalena Zietara was the only scoring option for Poland in the first quarter.
Irene Cigliani hit a jumper from the corner and Beatrice Carta added bomb from outside to give even more confidence to Italy at 38-20 in the second quarter. Poland couldn't find their way through the Italy half-court pressing and struggled on the offensive end the entire second quarter.
Agata Szczepanik broke the ice with a layup early in the third quarter and initiated a 19-7 run for Poland.
However, Poland hit the wall on the offense again in the fourth quarter and Italy continued to dominate on both ends until the end.
