Alena Novikava

Career: RUOR-Belarussian Junior NT (Belarus-Div. 1, 2002-04), RUOR-Belarussian Junior NT (Baltic League, 2003-05), RCOR-Gorizont Minsk (Belarus-Div. 1, 2004-05), Vologda-Chevakata (Russia-Superleague, 2005-07)

Novikava has always been thought to be one of the best prospects in her age group thanks to her smooth moves, effective crossover dribble and scoring abilities. The 19-year-old is not a classic point guard because she's not extremely effective at distributing the ball. After signing a contract with Nadezhda Orenburg Novikava, she played mostly for the second team in Superleague B. The 1.76 m point guard has played for Belarus on junior level, winning U16 European Championship silver medal in 2003. She made her first appearance for National Team at age of 17 in an important away game against Norway.
