Like his twin brother, Darius Lavrinovic spent two years off the basketball courts, for legal reasons. Darius is more or less the same player as Ksystof, and some bright performances in the Euroleague last season gave a hint of his talent: 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 blocks against Panathinaikos, and 18 points and 10 rebounds against Ljubljana. Not bad for a player who is supposed to be less valuable than his brother. What is true is that after a very steady improvement in his early years in Alita Alytus, and a spectacular 2002-03 season (17.8ppg and 9.3rpg), Darius' role diminished when he chose to join Zalgiris Kaunas, where the competition in the paint is tough. In fact, the major difference between him and his brother is Ksystof's capacity to remain steady and focused.
