Career: Unicaja (Spain-ACB, 1998-00), Badajoz (Spain-LEB, 2000), Unicaja (Spain-ACB, 2000-...)

A European and World champion at junior level, Cabezas is looking for more success at the highest level. After growing up with Unicaja’s youth teams, he has played all his professional career (apart from five games on loan to 2nd division team Badajoz) with the team from Malaga and has just extended his contract until 2008. He is the heart and soul of the successful Spanish club, and has brought his intensity and aggressive game to the national team. An outstanding defender and fantastic fast break and transition player, Cabezas’ main weakness is the half court offense, although he has developed into quite a reliable long range shooter and good penetrator. He is looking forward to EuroBasket after being the last player cut in the two previous championships.
