Turkey couldn't wish for a more capable and trusted veteran playmaker than Kerem Tunceri. Not only does he possess a super basketball IQ, he is also the player who often holds this fragile Turkey team together when it threatens to implode. He is a hugely effective anchor not just for the backcourt but also for the entire team. While he is now 32-years-old and in the twilight of a distinguished career, last summer he was a key architect of the silver medal success as his four assists per game will testify. Even when he was discarded by the National Team a few years ago, he simply knuckled down and when finally recalled, he returned with even more knowledge and court smarts. He has the strength, size and quickness required at the elite level and when it comes to on the ball defence, he is the top man for Turkey.
